sadness...
this is totally shallow, but forgive me. i think i deserve to put in things like this because i have been working my ass off on all the other days.
let me just say that...
we must all mourn for a week has passed and we have not seen Cello yet!
some have been speculating that he must be an Octoberian. Sadness.
To compensate for this great loss, my crazy friends are either giving away my number to their lesbian friends or totally selling me out to their Ateneo friends. I don't think any of that wil work...because as of now, I am enjoying Geekdom! Yes! I have gone from Diva to Nerdette! As of the moment, I am spending time wisely at the UP Diliman Main lib, enjoying the serenity and exploiting their wi-fi!
Aaaahhhh.. This is the life! Somehow, I have gotten sick of the AS lobby atmosphere and all the fab passers-by with their immaculate feet clad in havaianas. I am in for the new crowd! :)
As they say, all the good kids hang out in the lib:
1. those who are sleeping
2. those who are studying
3. those who are working as student assistants
I don't know where I fall under.
Anyhoooooo, I just came from Geog1 class under Prof. Teodoro Santos, and I am super bummed out. Yeah, sure, he's old. I am supposed to have no problem about that, but the class was soooo blaaaaah.
He kept on asking us questions until the class ended. I was feeling so eager
pa naman to listen to a lecture and take down notes.
He asked us to define "place", "landscape", "nature", "environment", "ecosystem", "society" and "technology". Of course, we didn't have any decent answer.
Just a thought, he said that there are 3 Fundamental Philosophies relating Man to Nature...
1. Man is a separate category from Biotic and Abiotic things.
2. Man is just under the Biotic Category, meaning we are in the same group as the ferns and bacteria and all other living things.
3. Man belongs to the category which comprises the ecosystem, meaning we are in the same group as the ferns and bacteria and the rocks and everything else.He believes in number 1. I believe in number 2. Though I tend to have a more humanistic approach to my beliefs, I don't find it necessary to place Man in a pedestal above all other creatures.
Teka lang... Sounds familiar no? Para bang...
You think you own whatever land you land on
Earth is just a dead thing you can claim
But I know every rock and tree and creature
Has a life, has a spirit, has a name
You think the only people who are people
Are the people who look and think like you
But if you walk the footsteps of a stranger
You learn things you never knew
You never knew
Go on with the chorus darlings!
